Ultrashort pulse generation and multi-color time-resolved spectrometers
We generate optical pulses as short as 10 fs in the tunable range of 480 – 700 nm by using noncollinear optical parametric amplifiers (NOPAs), and we carry out a variety of time-resolved spectroscopy experiments with the highest possible time resolution.
A two-color pump-probe spectrometer (vis-vis or uv-vis) enables us to observe excited state dynamics with 25 – 40 fs time resolution.
A femtosecond impulsive Raman spectrometer detects nuclear motion directly in the time domain and monitors changes in the instantaneous structure of the reacting molecules on the femtosecond time scale.
